The Experts Say Recession: Then How Do We Still Have Growth?
Doom and gloom, doom and gloom. That’s all we’ve heard for months on end now from the media. How horrible things are. Housing is in the pits. Unemployment skyrocketing. The world is about to come to an end essentially. Sounds like a Chicken-Little scenario to me to be honest. I guess the up side is, that it wasn’t global whining that destroyed the world, eh?
But seriously though, will someone please explain how we are in a recession, when we’ve been seeing growth? According to CNN this morning, the financial “experts” say we’ve been in a recession since December of 2007. Okay, so why, during the same broadcast, did they have a money guru on saying that this years sales were up 3% from this same time last year? Hmmm, this same time last year was when the recession started. And this same time last year, sales were up 2% from the previous year. And the GDP (this same time last year) itself was up a whole 2% as well…
And we’re in a recession?
