Coughlin’s Ouster Gains Attention: Will Things Change?

With all the fuss raised over the removal of Stephen Coughlin from his position in the Pentagon, it seems to be drawing more and more attention. Found on both NewsMax.com AND the American Congress for Truth website is an article by Kenneth R. Timmerman. The title, “Firing of Islam Expert Decried.” The coverage on the ACT website has an intro by Jerry Gordon.

Gordon’s intro speaks not only of Timmerman’s own research, but what Timmerman has to say about Coughlin’s work and how important it is to the American Intelligence Community. I highly recommend reading the full article yourself at one of the above links. As Coughlin was the ONLY Islamic Law expert the Pentagon had, it could be accurately described as “America flying blind” now.

It should be noted as listed in the ACT e-letter that brought this update regarding Coughlin, that Timmerman is not only an author, but also a 2006 Nobel Peace prize nominee, and a member of the Advisory Board for American Congress for Truth. So it’s not just “some guy” talking out of his a$$, instead, he’s someone who carries some actual clout.

Some of the tiers that have begun to take notice of Coughlin’s impromptu removal are the White House itself. Thus far, at least one interview has been conducted of Coughlin by the White House. Although, as stated in Timmerman’s article, Coughlin holds little hope of a WH rescue. I can understand that, as we still seem to have two border patrol agents serving 10+ year terms for wrongful convictions sitting in jail.

Also becoming very interested in this situation are members of Congress. As stated in Timmerman’s article, “Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., has taken that call seriously, and said last week that she was examining the possibility of holding congressional oversight hearings on Coughlin’s dismissal. Myrick co-chairs the bi-partisan House Anti-Terrorism Caucus with Rep. Jane Harmon, D-Calif., which she started last year out of frustration that no one was educating the American people about the threat from Islamo-fascism.”

As for now, I’m of the party that doubts, even with growing attention being brought to bear, that Coughlin will be reinstated. I’m of the belief that a significant portion of our leadership has taken their swig of the “religion of peace Kool-Aid,” and have resigned us to submitting to Sharia law.

But this is America. Perhaps I’m not alone, and that enough people will finally say enough is enough, and will make change happen. Time will only tell.
