Strait Of Hormuz Update: Was It Normal Or Never Happened?
OK, newest update of info that I could find about the Strait of Hormuz incident. In my UPDATE Article yesterday, I just listed more basic info which included the ships reportedly involved and some video footage. It also included some statements by Iranian Representatives. But now we seem to have some contradictions that need to be addressed.
In yesterdays article, I noted “So far, Iran has denounced the video as fabricated. The state-run Press TV quoted a spokesman for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy as saying that the video “had been compiled using file pictures and the audio had been fabricated.” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman downplayed the incident earlier, calling it “normal.” “The case … was similar to the past ones and it was a regular and natural issue,” Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said.”
Okay, so something happened, and the U.S. was just blowing it out of proportion then? Okay, I can roll with that. At least we know that there was SOME KIND of occurrence, but it wasn’t all it was made out to be according to Iranian sources.
Now, here is were I have a problem. As noted in the quotes above, SOMETHING happened according to the Iranian sources, but it was “normal” activity that occurs all the time. But from today’s video release by Iran, NOTHING at all happened. Here are just two of many links for the Iranian’s version of the video. I just took ABCNews and FOXNews they were at hand.
Get my point in this? Did something of no significance happen? Or did nothing of no significance happen? You don’t get both? Which is why I am skeptical of Iran’s reports, and am going to go with U.S. reports that there was at least SOME KIND of incident. As for authenticity of EITHER sides video, that will have to wait for now.
