MoveOn.org Meltdown
MoveOn.org is now turning on liberal Democrats, and Democrats are turning on MoveOn.org. Although we have no use for Dianne Feinstein (noting her rabid anti-Second Amendment position), she has to have some good point because MoveOn.org is now attacking her. Straight from MoveOn.org itself:
Dianne Feinstein is failing us. Send the Senator a message she can’t ignore.
Join the movement calling for the California Democratic Party to censure the Senator. The movement is building.
From the grassroots and the netroots to the Courage Campaign and MoveOn.org, people across California and the country are taking a stand together to hold Senator Dianne Feinstein accountable.
Please join us in calling for the California Democratic Party to officially censure Senator Feinstein for her shameful votes confirming Judge Michael Mukasey as U.S. Attorney General and Judge Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. (A full list of endorsing organizations is below.)
It’s time, as MoveOn says in its email supporting the censure, to “send Senator Feinstein a message she can’t ignore.”
Here is the text of the current censure resolution, authored by California Democratic Party Progressive Caucus co-chair Mal Burnstein and first approved by the Steering Committee of East Bay for Democracy. The following resolution will be submitted to the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party at its meeting November 16-18 in Anaheim.
Please sign your name below to encourage more organizations and clubs to endorse the censure of Senator Feinstein and send a clear message
that the condoning of torture, racism and homophobia is unacceptable:Whereas Senator Dianne Feinstein voted to support the nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey as United States Attorney General, thereby elevating to the highest position in law enforcement a man who refused to renounce the right of the President to resort to torture and who refused to recognize waterboarding as a form of torture, and by this action Senator Feinstein failed to oppose President Bush and failed to stand for the ideals of the Democratic Party, which abhors torture and stands firmly against its use by the United States at all times and places; and
Whereas Senator Feinstein voted to confirm Judge Leslie Southwick for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit despite his clear record of racism and gender discrimination, thus failing to stand firmly with the Democratic Party, which supports gender equality and opposes racism in any of its manifestations; and
Whereas these examples are far from the only instances where Senator Feinstein, after seeking and securing the support and endorsement of the California Democratic Party, has failed to support the policies and principles of our party;
Therefore be it resolved that the California Democratic Party expresses its disappointment at, and censure of, Senator Feinstein for ignoring Democratic principles and falling so far below the standard of what we expect of our elected officials.
(For more information on Judge Leslie Southwick, please see People for the American Way.)

We have previously described MoveOn.org as donkey cancer, and now MoveOn.org is making its true nature known. Far from being an asset to the Democratic Party, it is a malignant parasite that has finally shown its true colors by turning on its own host.
Centrist and conservative Democrats need to realize that their party is riddled with malignant cancer, its name is MoveOn.org, and that radical surgery is in order. As shown by votes to stand with General Petraeus against MoveOn.org’s defamatory advertisement, many Democrats are already waking up to the fact that MoveOn.org is the problem.
Vote Number: 344 Vote Date: September 20, 2007, 12:36 PM
To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.

Obama (D-IL) Said he wasn’t going to “dignify the amendment” by voting on it. In other words, this individual who can’t even be bothered to show proper respect for our Flag during the Pledge of Allegiance (even Clinton put her hand over her heart while Obama stood with his hands down at his sides) is standing squarely with MoveOn.org.
We mustn’t forget, incidentally, that MoveOn.org welcomed anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum. Circulate the following image to remind Catholic voters what Eli Pariser and his friends at MoveOn.org think of Catholics, and circulate the extensive material from this site to make sure Democratic Jews know what MoveOn.org thinks of Jews.
Keep up the good work, MoveOn.org. We are confident that you will be the millstone around the Democratic Party’s collective neck that will drag the party down to defeat next year.
