Look What the National Jewish Democratic Council Supports!
The National Jewish Democratic Council already has a track record of lying to American Jews to cover the anti-Semitic activities of allied organizations like MoveOn.org. As stated by NJDC head Ira Forman,
Jewish voters should take comfort in knowing that MoveOn.org is not a haven for anti-Semitism and the organization will renounce and remove any postings of the sort. NJDC has stuck to this story despite the posting of literally dozens of examples of anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech that were found at MoveOn.org’s Action Forum long after Eli Pariser lied about removing the hate speech. It therefore comes as no surprise that the National “Jewish” Democratic Council is now standing behind the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), which proclaims Israel’s occupation of the West Bank “illegal” and “apartheid.”
Amana – The Settlement Movement”, a Zionist organization, will host a real estate fair in Teaneck, New Jersey to recruit more colonizers to illegally occupy Palestinian land in the West Bank. The event announcement declares: “Come learn how you, a group of friends or even a community can own a home and strengthen the Zionist dream.”

Not only did the US government repeatedly affirm this position throughout the 1970s and 1980s, but the Israeli Supreme Court has acknowledged de facto its validity by ruling that the West Bank and Gaza Strip are under “belligerent occupation” in 1979, 2002 and 2004.
We showed previously that the National Jewish Democratic Council stood behind the ADC, the publisher of the above Web page that calls Israel’s occupation of the West Bank “illegal” and “apartheid,” and additional Web pages that blame Israel for “provoking” terroristic violence by Palestinians. The NJDC’s lie-by-omission press release stated,
“The cynical behavior of Senator Cardinale and Councilwoman Cardinale are, to be frank, reminders of why all-too-many Americans are fed up with politics,” said national NJDC Executive Director Ira N. Forman. “To blame a candidate because his law partner is affiliated with an organization which had a former staffer who wrote nasty articles in a student newspaper – this is almost as absurd as it is reprehensible. Voters deserve better.”
The National Jewish Democratic Council’s whitewash of NJDC is “lying by omission.” NJDC accuses the Cardinales of blaming a political opponent for having a law partner who is “affiliated with an organization which had a former staffer who wrote nasty articles in a student newspaper” while concealing the fact that the same organization’s official publications include material that could have come straight from the International Solidarity Movement.
Now let’s take a look at the ADC’s Taqqiya Fact Sheet about Israel. ADC is conveniently omitting the fact that its was the Arabs who told the Palestinians to leave while they drove all the Jews into the sea. Remember, this is what the National Jewish Democratic Council is defending and whitewashing.

The Israeli Occupation Of Palestinian Land Is The Foremost Obstacle To Peace.What is the Israeli Occupation?
June 1967: The Israeli military invaded the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. These areas of historic Palestine under military control are the “occupied territories,” which are systematically being incorporated into the state of Israel. These illegal policies are in violation of Palestinian national and human rights, as recognized in international law, UN resolutions and the Geneva Conventions.
Jerusalem: Israel annexed about 10% of the West Bank and incorporated it into Jerusalem, surrounding the city with massive settlements for Israelis.
Land: Israel has seized a majority of the land as military bases, settlements, security areas, “land reserves,” by-pass roads linking settlements with Israel, and other areas forbidden to Palestinians. Palestinians are confined to small fragmented areas resembling bantustans in an Israeli version of Apartheid.
Settlements: Israel has built over 200 settlements in the territories. Over 400,000 Israelis have moved onto Palestinian land. Many of the settlers are armed and aggressive extremists.
Home demolitions: Over 7000 Palestinian homes have been destroyed, leaving 30,000 people homeless.
Refugees: In 1948, the Israelis drove 700,000 Palestinians from their homes into exile through massacres and military force. Today, 5 million Palestinian refugees live in exile, many still in refugee camps, living in desperate conditions.
The ADC may as well write that, in the years 1939-1945, Jews and Poles attempted to drive Germans from their homes through massacres and military force. The ADC’s Taqqiya Sheet continues–and remember, this is what the National Jewish Democratic Council is whitewashing and therefore supporting:
During the peace process, Israel intensified its system of control — Settlements were expanded, more settlers arrived, more homes were destroyed, more land was confiscated, more roads were built; unemployment rates skyrocketed. Israeli checkpoints on all roads obstruct Palestinians from travel to work, school, hospitals and places of worship. These policies finally provoked the second Intifadah.
U.S. Aid to Israel Funds the Occupation:
…U.S. military aid: U.S. aid has made Israel the third or fourth most powerful military force in the world. Israel is using U.S. F-16 fighters and Apache helicopters in attacks against Palestinian civilians. This violates the U.S. Foreign Arms Export Act.
Write to the President and help bring an end to the illegal occupation
…The under-reported peace and human rights movement among Israelis and American Jews is growing stronger. The Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions, Israeli Coalition of Women, Gush Shalom, Women in Black, Rabbis for Human Rights and others have worked together with Palestinians to oppose the Israeli occupation - demonstrating, serving as witnesses and human rights monitors, blocking Israeli bulldozers, getting arrested, rebuilding homes, replanting olive trees. An activist from Bat Shalom commented: “Occupation is wrong, occupation is terror, occupation must end.”
A Just and Lasting Peace:
A genuine peace with a minimum of justice requires an independent and viable Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967 (West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem). Jerusalem should be shared as the capital of both Israel and Palestine. Palestine should be an equal neighbor alongside Israel with peace and security for both peoples.
Since 1988, the Palestinians have officially recognized the state of Israel and accepted its existence on 78% of historical Palestine, with the understanding that a sovereign and viable Palestinian state would be established on the remaining 22%. This is the historic Palestinian compromise for peace which Israel refuses to accept.
For 54 years, Palestinian refugees have not been allowed to return to their homes. The right of return is guaranteed under international law and UN Resolution 194. This must be implemented.

Even the Anti-Defamation League, which also has a track record of whitewashing anti-Semites for political purposes, has this to say about the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. Again, this is what the National Jewish Democratic Council is supporting in its efforts to attack the Cardinales.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) was founded in 1980 and is the largest Arab civil rights groups in the United States. ADC describes itself as a “”civil rights organization committed to defending the rights of people of Arab descent and promoting their rich cultural heritage.”” It also lobbies the U.S. government for “”a balanced U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.”” Since the start of the second intifada in late 2000, ADC’s national leadership in Washington has been only marginally involved in anti-Israel protests and its former president, Ziad Asali, has made moderate statements in support of a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on a two-state solution. On the other hand, eElements from some of ADC’s grassroots leadership regional chapters, however, have formed a radical wing within the organization, promoting a hardlinehard-line stance that includes rejecting Israel’s right to exist. These chapters ADC’s regional chapters have organized many anti-Israel rallies and have supported anti-Israel campus activities; in California its local leaders established the radical Free Palestine Alliance and have held leadership roles in ANSWER and Al–Awda, both of which support terrorism and reject Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.
We have already shown that material posted by the ADC’s national leadership in Washington also supports the Arab hard line positions.
Perhaps the National Jewish Democratic Council should join the International Solidarity Movement. It would fit right in.
